Counselling

Mental health is a growing concern in today’s workplaces, and its impact on businesses is undeniable. In the UK, stress, depression and anxiety account for over half of all work-related ill health cases and millions of lost working days each year. The effects go beyond absenteeism, influencing morale, productivity, and overall team wellbeing.

Supporting employees with access to timely, professional help can make all the difference. Acorn Occupational Health, through partnership with Vita Health Group (part of Spire Healthcare) offer a dedicated Counselling Service.

We provide employees with fast, confidential access to qualified therapists, helping them to manage mental health challenges early, reduce absence, and build resilience.

    How Our Counselling Service Works

Our counselling pathway is designed to be simple, structured, and supportive for both employers and employees:

    1. Referral – Employers submit a referral via Orchid.
    2. Triage Assessment – A qualified clinician carries out an initial assessment to understand the employee’s needs.
    3. Tailored Support Plan – Based on the assessment, we recommend the most suitable counselling approach.
    4. Counselling Sessions – Employees access confidential sessions with an experienced counsellor.
    5. Outcome Summary – Where appropriate, employers receive confirmation that the process has been completed (without clinical details).
