Safety Critical Medicals

For some workplaces and industries, the risk of serious injury is less than in other environments. For example, someone passing out in an office is likely to be less dangerous than an HGV driver passing out at the wheel.

A Safety Critical Medical is designed to assess the health of a worker, and whether their health and fitness are of a level that is above the minimum required for a role.

More often than not, a Safety Critical medical is used for construction workers. For instance, where a contractor will need proof of fitness to enter a site and carry out their job. It ensures that, regardless of what job a worker is doing, they are fit & healthy to complete the job in the relevant environment.

But, these medicals can also be used to assess the health of Forklift Truck drivers, and plant operatives. The main thing to note is that this will be external to your company’s site.
